Cleaning up our Shorelines

We have had big turnouts at shoreline cleanups these past two weeks. Thanks to all volunteers who came out and helped clean up our river!

Happy Spring everyone!

We have had a flurry of successful spring cleanups in the past couple of weeks.  In the video below, you can see our Brewery Creek Riverwatcher Sheila Jones on tv at the cleanup organized by the city of Gatineau. Bravo Sheila! They certainly hauled a lot of garbage out of Brewery Creek!

Volunteers were also busy at parc des Cèdres (Gatineau), and as seen in the featured image above, in Hawkesbury at a cleanup coordinated by our Riverwatcher Louis Lafontaine. To celebrate Earth Day, hardcore whitewater paddlers and a big team from Adobe cleaned up garbage on the river shoreline and also raised funds for Ottawa Riverkeeper. It is wonderful to see so many people coming to help out and get involved to protect the Ottawa River!

Thanks to all who have been leading, organizing and participating in the shoreline cleanups this year!
