Size: The American eagle’s wingspan can be 1.8 to 2.3 m.


Habitat: The American eagle prefers to nest near a lake or river. They choose a tree and build a large nest for them and their young.


Diet: This species of bird eats mostly fish but they also eat other birds and mammals.


Native: Native to North America.


Status: This species is currently listed as special concern in Ontario, and vulnerable in Quebec.


Fun Fact: The American eagle builds the largest nest known to North America.
