Explore the Voyageurs Pathway

Plan your next afternoon trip with this interactive map of The Voyageurs Pathway featuring inspiring views of the Ottawa River.

Gatineau and Ottawa are criss-crossed by bike paths that provide an escape from the urbane. The Voyageurs Pathway, for example, features amazing views of the Ottawa River for the majority of the ride.

On any given day you can find cyclists, walkers, joggers and rollerbladers taking advantage of the waterfront the scenery which also shifts to a delicate woodland where anyone is likely to spot one of the fascinating creatures that can be found near our river.  We encourage you to get out and take advantage of the paths along the Ottawa River and explore all that they have to offer.
Click on the map to see our photo-guide to one of the incredible pathways found right in our backyard.

This is brilliant. Don’t know if it is updatable but there are things along the path not mentioned and worthy of mention – for example the stromatolite field just upstream from Champlain Bridge (unique in the region), a fantastic viewpoint looking out on the Deschênes Rapids, Conroy Island and Britannia on the Ottawa side (with interpretation panels) near number 26, a bit of history could be added about the dam ruins at 26, the marsh at the wood bridge (28) is called Wood Duck Marsh because of guess what….. Anyway bravo for a lovely app and I hope it gets people out on the path. If you would like some words on the above points let me know. Cheers, Howard

We’re so glad you enjoyed it Howard. The map is editable so we can update. We missed the stromatolite as we were biking along but there will be piece on the site soon with more information about them. We’d love to have you add some words about the points you’ve mentioned above. Email me, Joe, with your updates at jryan@ottawariverkeeper.ca
